The Stunning Ortiz

Ortiz is one stunning loving boy. His eyes are simply beautiful and when you look into them
you will fall in love. He is looking for his forever home and forever family and is ready to go.
He loves to ride and go for short walks. Check out this beautiful brindle boy. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Gates mean stop, not go

Ortiz likes to burst through baby gates as soon as a crack of daylight appears when we move them. Ken thinks he is remembering the track gates opening and he is trying to run through as fast as he can. We are trying to teach him not to charge through (and knock me sideways!) when we open a baby gate.

Ortiz continues to ignore the cat. He likes to go outside with Dante (sheltie), but they aren't playing together just yet. Ortiz chomped on a stuffie a few times, but hasn't done it again. He is not sleeping through the night, but he was only up twice last night, so that is a big improvement.

Ortiz loves to get petted and will very gently head butt you if you stop petting him too soon. Happy mother's day out there.

Beds are better than floors

It only took Ortiz 24 hours to decide that sleeping on dog beds was much better than sleeping beside them. He likes his new beds so much he roached frequently while watching TV last night.

He has met the cat and is ignoring him so far. We give him praise for turning away from Barkley.

Ortiz is active at night and paces around the bedroom to see if we want to get out of bed and play with him. I am sleepy the next day! Hopefully he will relax and sleep through the night soon.

I'm a scent hound

Ortiz arrived at his foster home last night with Ken, Lisa, Dante (sheltie) and Barkley (cat). Ortiz believes he is a scent hound. He spent all evening sniffing all the new smells. His nose never stopped twitching. Maybe he has seen Bewitched reruns?

Ortiz spent time admiring his reflection in the oven door and ate all of his dinner. He was very happy with meal time. He hasn't met Barkley yet, but he accepted Dante, after much smelling.

He hasn't figured out the dog beds yet. He carefully lays down next to them on the floor to nap. I'm sure he will be assuming the preferred greyhound napping position soon.

Off to home life!

Ortiz did GREYT with his vetting, earning an A+ on all his tests! With that behind him, he's off to his foster home to discover a new world of beds, kitchens, doors, TV's, stairs, and all the things we take for granted!

Step 2

After his photo-op, Ortiz suffered the indignity of a bath, and actually seemed to like it.

Then it was back in the car and off the the vet clinic for... step 3!

Hello Nashville, here I am!

Ortiz arrived in some stormy weather, but it didn't seem to bother him at all!

He checked out the people and the area, and then agreed to a photo-op!

Ortiz is adorable and is already showing some cute personality.

No, there wasn't anything nasty in the grass - he just decided to get a "feel" for his new city!
